53 students provided Advanced Specialised Nursing Training in IGH as part of the CSR initiatives of RSP

Rourkela/Susanta Behera :  In a function organised at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) recently, 53 students were presented with certificates for completing one year training of Advanced Specialised Nursing Training. It is worth mentioning here that the training was organised as an employment generation initiative of RSP under its CSR activities. During the training each of the trainees was given a stipend of Rs.9000/- per month apart from free food and lodging.

 During the one year course the trainees were taught about patient’s nursing care, medicine and injection administering procedures, different procedures while assisting doctors during their rounds, documentation and preparation of doctor’s report etc. Apart from theoretical inputs, the trainees were also provided with hands on training.

Dr. S S Pati, Director (M&HS) was the Chief Guest at the certificate presentation ceremony. Mr. P M Behera, DGM Incharge (CSR) was the Guest of Honour. Also present on the occasion were Dr. R R Mohanty, Joint Director (M&HS), Dr. (Mrs) Indira Mishra, Senior Deputy Director (M&HS) and Medical Administration Nursing Incharge, other Senior Doctors and staff of IGH.

At the outset the Ms. Pushpalata Das, Senior Nursing Tutor welcomed the gathering and anchored the programme while Ms. Bharati Kar, Deputy Manager proposed a formal vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Laxmi Suna, Matron, IGH.
