Bhubaneswar (SPB) : Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of CII, formed in 2002 and works independently as a Pan India platform for young Entrepreneurs & professionals to realize the dream of a developed nation. Through its programs and initiatives, it reaches out to millions of youth across country with the clarion call to action of ‘We Can, We Will’. Yi holds more than 2500 activities each year under the pillar of Youth Leadership, National Building and Thought Leadership, and connects with 14000+ students through its institutional network, ’Yuva’. Yi is also one of the founders of the G20 Young Entrepreneur’s Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE -A).
This is a major festival in India marking the harvest. It is celebrated all over India but referred with different names in each state. Most of the Indian festivals are based on the position of the moon. However, Makar Sankranti is the only festival that is marked by sun’s position and thus, always falls on 14th / 15th of January. Also, from this day, the Sun starts getting brighter, meaning longer days. Thus, to celebrate it, Kite-flying is a part of this festival. It has become so popular that nowadays Uttarayan equals to Kite-flying. It is said that the art of flying kites was introduced in India by Persians. Earlier it used to be a sport only for the royal families.
On the above background, Young Indians Bhubaneswar Chapter would like to host an UTTARAYANA KITE FEST in association with Odisha Government Tourism and Sports & Youth Services Department, to promote awareness on the JAGANNATH CULTURE of UTTARAYANA CELEBRATIONS and bring back the dying culture of Kite flying culture of the state amongst the Youth of the state, as well as, Promote Odisha’s Virgin Beaches as a FUN destination amongst people from outside the state. We have aligned Expert Kite Flyers from Mumbai by name FLY 360 who will come in a team of 8-10 pax and put up a Designer Kite & LED Kite Show in front of all obsrvers. They would showcase the evolution that KITE Flying has gone through and also host Modern KITE Making Workshops for Kids & Adults who are interested to make their own KITE’s in a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) format. FLY 360 is a very reputed agency having multiple KITE Show experiences in association with Gujarat & Bihar Governments.
