 NITR is abridging the gap between the rural and urban entrepreneurs: JualOram

 NITR startups will get an opportunity to work for the smart city: Rashmita Panda

Rourkela/Sushanta Behera : Minister of Tribal Affairs JualOram Inaugurated the Foundation for Technology and Business Incubation (FTBI), National Institute of Technology Rourkela’s Innovation carnival 2018 on Saturday. He also launched the ‘Organic Farming Project ‘ Of NIT Rourkela. Speaking on the occasion he said, ‘’  Nit has started Organic farming. I welcome this move of NIT. In our county due to excessive usages of urea in vegetable people are suffering from much serious health disorder. So by promoting Organic farming, It can be prevented. Sikkim is the first Organic state of India. Like Sikkim Odisha should promote the benefits of ‘chemical-free farming’. I hope NIT Rourkela by promoting Organic farming can help and inspire the farmers of the state to go for Organic farming,’’ said Shri Oram. He said, ‘’We have a misconception that by organic farming enough vegetables cannot be produced but we can also produce more vegetables in organic farming,’’he added. Speaking on Innovation carnival he said, ‘’Again Innovation carnival is a wonderful concept. I wish for the success of the event. By giving an opportunity to innovators NIT Rourkela is abridging the gap between the rural and urban entrepreneurs’’ said Shri Oram.   

Smart city CEO smt.Rashmita Panda said, ‘’I really appreciate the motive behind the innovation carnival for bringing up the creative minds.  NIT Rourkela is also giving opportunity to women entrepreneurs to showcase their talent . Innovation means an idea that can change the life of yours and life of others . on behalf of smart city Rourkela we had interacted with the heads of the few startups and with the consent of technology department we are planning to include them on board . I welcome at least two startups from NIT Rourkela to have them on the board.  and I’m sure this carnival can change the lives of many entrepreneurs’’.

The guest of honour and the internationally acclaimed fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra said, ‘’ Innovation is a way of doing the same thing in some other way. In Innovation, creativity is involved. Here so many creative minds have come together. So I’m glad that NIT Rourkela has organized Innovation carnival to showcase some of the best creative works..’’

Dr.Animesh Biswas, the Director of NIT Rourkela said, ‘’ since its inception, FTBI has made a progress in spreading a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Hope it will continue to do so.   Speaking about Organic farming he said, ‘’We are in the process of developing farming. We have taken the help of an organization. That Organization has improvised the farming process by using composting waste materials. The main objective is to improve the technology of Organic Farming and make it much easier for the farmers and we will try to encourage farmers so that they can use this technique. Improvise the technique and give training to farmers. Right now we will be investing 5 Lakhs. We will sell the products and recover the money and again use that money for the development of Organic farming.

Professor K.kMohapatra, Dean Academics said, ‘’We always allow our students to go beyond academics.  I thank our Prime Minister for initiating ‘Make in India’. This has given wonderful opportunities to the Innovators’’.

 In this matter, the professor-in-charge of FTBI Shri Rajeev Kumar Panda said, ‘’To celebrate the culture of innovation, NIT Rourkela has organized the Innovation carnival. This event aims to provide a platform to budding entrepreneurs to realize their startup dreams and nudge them to translate their innovative thinking into developing impactful ventures that would contribute directly to the creation of wealth and well-being of the society . Innovators, Eminent Personalities, Start-ups, Students from School and Technical Institutes, Research Scholars, Representatives from supporting agencies, Industries, Quality Circles etc. from various parts of the country have attended the event. The best innovative idea will get a cash prize of one lakh fifty thousand rupees ,’’ Informed Shri Panda.

Union Minister JualOram Felicitated the startup companies Phoenix Robotics Pvt. Ltd., Estinno Energy Pvt. Ltd., Awalk Innovations Pvt. Ltd, Fastech Fashions Pvt. Ltd., M/s Srinivasa Lunch Room (SLR) .

 The bespoke event has comprised of Innovative Exhibition Challenge, Startup Hunt, Inspirational Talks with Experts and Professionals and Panel discussions, Session on IPR and Workshops by Startup India, opportunities for idea pitching and business development, mentoring & networking, social innovation exhibition, food innovation events, fun events and cultural nights etc.

 

 It's a two days programme where Industrial Innovation Exhibition by Quality Circles Forum of India has been organized. Apart from this, A workshop by Startup India has been conducted where startup India team encouraged the students for Startup Ventures and making them aware of several benefits available under various schemes, benefits under Startup India Programme. In school level Innovation exhibition around projects from different schools has been showcased. In Startup, hunt challenge pitch session has been organized for scouting startups ideas.
