Bhubaneswar : Odisha Police will substantially increase its capabilities to deal with Cyber Crime in coming months. Three new Cyber Police Stations will be added to increase the capacity. At present there are four Cyber Police Stations in the State at Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela and Sambalpur.
While inaugurating a training workshop on Cyber Crime today at Bhubaneswar Dr. R.P.Sharma, DGP said that new Cyber Police Stations will be opened at Jeypore, Balasore and Bhubaneswar. Other than that the State Police will substantially increase number of trained officers and infrastructure to deal with Cyber Crime. This highly specialised two days training programme for the officers of State Police has been organised by CID-Crime Branch.
A total of 70 officers from the rank of SP to S.I from all over the State are attending the programme. Known cyber expert Sh. Ishan Sinha from Delhi will train them in various new techniques of Cyber Crime investigation. The topics from the training workshop include Social media monitoring, Suspect Tracking, Cyber Overt/Covert Operations, Anonymity and breaking Anonymity, Identification of Malware signature. The participants will also be trained in Forensics and Counter Intelligence, Darknet & Counter Darknet, terrorism, Encryption and Tracking, Counter Espionage, Investigation & Data Analysis.
While addressing the participants Sh. Santosh Upadhayay, ADGP, CID-Crime Branch said that Cyber Crime is one of the most emerging field and we have to upgrade the skills of our officers to improve investigation skills for detection and prevention of Cyber Crimes.
Sri Arun Bothra, IG, CID-Crime, Sri Ghanshyam Upadhyay, IGP Intelligence, Sri Himanshu Lal, DIG, STF, CID CB, Sri Rajesh Pandit, SP CID CB and Sri Satyajit Nayak, SP, STF also attended the programme.
