Dr. R.P. Sharma, DGP has suspended Inspector Jagannath Acharya, IIC Laxmipur P.S of Korput District with immediate effect for his gross misconduct in exhibiting suspicious and lackadaisical attitude in dealing with an important NDPS case that was lodged in Laxmipur P.S vide no. 67 Dtd. 12.07.2018 U/S 20(b) (ii) (c) 29 NDPS Act.

During the period of suspension, Sri Acharya will remain under the disciplinary control of D.I.G of Police, South Western Range, Koraput as ordered by DGP.

DGP has further instructed SP Koraput to submit immediately the necessary draft charge, memo of evidence along with relevant documents against Inspector Jagannath Acharya through DIG of Police SWR for drawl of disciplinary proceeding against him.

  In the intervening night of 11.07 and 12.07.18 as per intelligence input, Laxmipur P.S. staff detained a truck, suspected to be carrying ganja. However, due to suspected and deliberate negligence of the IIC, the detained driver could manage to escape and as per law, the IIC did not report the matter to SDPO or SP Koraput. After due enquiry SP Koraput had submitted a report to DGP through DIG, SWR. As prima facie evidence was established and a departmental proceeding is being contemplated, Sri Acharya was placed under suspension.
