Training of sellers for registration and transaction in Government e-Marketplace (GeM)  organized 

Bhubaneswar : Confederation of Indian Industry organized a half-day training programme on Government Electronic Marketplace (GEM) with Finance Department, Government of Odisha today at the State Treasury.

 Based on the recommendations of the Group of Secretaries made to Hon’ble Prime Minister, subsequently was decided that GeM SPV will create a one stop Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to facilitate online procurement of commonly used Goods & Services required by various Government Departments / Organizations / PSUs. GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users, achieve the best value for their money. 

Mr M.K Gupta, Past Chairman of CII Odisha State Council chaired the training programme conducted by State government hired GeM consultants. Mr Gupta expressed his heartiest congratulation to Union as well as the state government for planning and implementing a long desired procurement tool for MSMEs of India. This in long run would have great impetus on Indian economy as MSME represent major chunk of business fraternity of India.
