Sir, i would like to state that this is the first time our media house has attempted an extensive exit poll and having the largest circulated Odia daily and being the biggest media house of the state, we thought it was our journalistic responsibility to carry an exercise of this magnitude in this historic election. However, we understand and accept that our exit poll results might be accurate or inaccurate, but it is definitely not influenced or biased as alleged.
You may kindly be reminded that our media house being "owned by a BJD MP" has predicted maximum number of LS seats to BJP (as you have yourself acknowledged). Hence your allegation of undue influence for a favourable report to the BJD falls flat.
With all due respect, we believe we have the credentials as well as the bandwidth to undertake such an exit poll in the state without the help of national or international organization. Do you think none of the local media channels or media houses have the capability to conduct such an exercise in Odisha on their own?
Do you think only an association/partnership with national or international organizations lends credibility to a exit poll report?
For a person of your background, is it becoming to raise aspersions on a media house on the basis of "inside sources"?
On that premise will it be fair to say your family owned leading Odia news channel has been influenced for the last 18 odd years when you were a sitting MP of the BJD?
Sir, lastly we are all looking forward to the results on 23rd. Arguably, Kendrapada has been one of the hotly contested constituencies in odisha and I sincerely wish you the very best. But as an Odia I expect a politician of your stature and repute, to be more responsible and judicious in your allegations and insinuations
