Kochi, 26th July 2018:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>After putting up a clinical performance against the home side Kerala Blasters FC, A- League’s Melbourne City FC will be high on confidence as they take on LaLiga club Girona FC in the second match of the Toyota Yaris LaLiga World at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here on July 27.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

Melbourne City FC exhibited\u00a0an attacking brand\u00a0of football right from the word go and hit the back of the net\u00a0almost at will registering a 6-0 win. On being asked about the\u00a0team’s approach,\u00a0Melbourne City head coach Warren\u00a0Joyce said, “I wouldn\u2019t say we played with any real aggression\u00a0against Kerala Blasters but we certainly asked the players to put in a shift and help build their match fitness. We are focused on making sure we put the things we have worked on at training into the pitch.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The Englishman gave\u00a0playing minutes to almost every player of his squad\u00a0against Kerala Blasters and felt it was the right way to\u00a0prepare\u00a0ahead of the upcoming\u00a0A-league season.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

But Melbourne City FC know\u00a0Girona FC will be a different challenge altogether. After making debut in top-flight football in Spain last season,\u00a0Girona FC finished a respectable 10th in the 2017-18\u00a0LaLiga\u00a0season. The highlight of their season was\u00a0beating European champions and LaLiga\u00a0giants\u00a0Real Madrid 2-1.\u00a0\u201cGirona are a strong side. LaLiga is very competitive and for them to finish 10th last year shows they have some real quality,\u201d added the Melbourne City FC manager.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

Girona FC\u00a0will be looking at these next two matches in Kochi\u00a0to test their side’s readiness for yet another LaLiga season. Girona FC’s\u00a0skipper\u00a0Aleix Garcia Serrano\u00a0said,\u00a0“Both Melbourne City\u00a0 and Kerala Blasters FC are\u00a0good teams, Melbourne had a great first game and will be high on confidence. It will be an interesting match and we have to be at our best to beat them.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n
