JUNIOR MVI BHADRAK ARRESTED IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE.

 two  double storied building in twin city worth ,62 lakh,   7 nos. of homestead plots at Bhubaneswa Rs.60,90,710/-), Hard Cash Rs 13,03,000/-, Gold ornaments costs Rs.2,40,000/-.Deposits in different Banks and post officesRs 8,63,312/-, LIC and other insurance premium paid Rs.15,72,000/-. 

 Bhubneswar : Basing on the allegations of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Shri Shankar Narayan Choudhury, Jr. MVI, O/o RTO, Bhadrak, his (1) double storied building at Ganga Nagar, Bhubaneswar, (2) double storied building at Sector-11, CDA, Cuttack, (3) Office room at O/o RTO, Bhadrak, (4) Rented house at Charampa, Bhadrak, (5) house of relative at Jyoti Vihar, Burla and (6) another relative’s house at Goutam Nagar, Bhubaneswar were simultaneously searched on 14.11.2018 by the Officers of Vigilance Cell Division, Cuttack on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

In course of search and inventory, Sri Sankar Narayan Choudhury, Jr. MVI, O/o RTO, Bhadrak was found in possession of assets worth Rs.1,76,07,760/- (Rupees one crore seventy six lakhs seven thousand seven hundred sixty) including one double storied building at Ganganagar, Bhubaneswar, one double storied building at CDA, Cuttack, 7 nos. of homestead plots at Bhubaneswar, hard cash of Rs.13,03,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Three Thousand), One Maruti Suzuki Swift Car, One Hero Honda Motor cycle, Bank deposits, LIC & Insurance premium paid Rs.15,72,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Lakh, Seventy Two Thousand), gold ornaments and costly household articles. Thus, the total assets of Shri Choudhury and his family members has been calculated as Rs 1,76,07,760/- (Rupees one crore seventy six lakhs seven thousand seven hundred sixty). Investments in shares, debentures, bonds, mutual funds and other bank accounts, postal deposits, any other private investments in company etc. are being investigated into. After investigation is completed, the amount of total assets may go up further. 

                    During examination, Shri Shankar Narayan Choudhury and his spouse could notaccount for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.1,29,27,760/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Nine Lakhs Twenty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty). Vigilance Cell P.S. Case No.12 dtd. 15.11.2018 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption Act. 1988 as amended by the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act. 2018 has been registered against them. Shri Shankar Narayan Choudhury was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar on 15.11.2018 and was remanded to jail custody till 28.11.2018.
