SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant wins coveted Golden Peacock Award for CSR

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Maharatna Company SAIL, has won the coveted Golden Peacock Award 2018 for the effectiveness of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. SAIL, RSP was chosen for the award by the jury chaired by Hon'ble Justice Kurian Joseph, former Judge, Supreme Court of India. Mr.P.M.Behera, DGM(CSR) received the award from Mr. Prakash Manchubhai Mehta, Minister of Housing, Government of Maharashtra in the 13th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility and Golden Peacock Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai on 17th January 2019.

In a function organized at the CEO’s conference room on 22nd January, the CSR team of RSP presented the award to Mr. Ashwini Kumar, CEO. Mr. Kumar expressed happiness and congratulated the collective for winning the prestigious award. Mr. Raj Vir Singh, ED (P&A), Mr. Gautam Banerjee, ED (Works), Mr. D K Mohapatra, ED (MM), Mr.M.K.L.Chand, GM(F&A), Mr. Ajay Kumar Nayak, GM (TA & CSR), Mr. P M Behera  and Ms. Munmun Mittra, AGM(CSR) were present on the occasion. It is worth mentioning here that the Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India in 1991, are now regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence worldwide.
